BEST Valentine's Day EVER

All I wanted for Valentine's Day was a card and to go eat at Waffle House with my husband and baby.  I was expecting to head straight to the Waffle when I got home from class, but I was quite shocked when I walked in the door from class.  The house was picked up, kitchen cleaned, and the dinner table set.  Candles lit and music playing in the background.

Propped up on the table were two cards.  One for "Mom" and one for "Love of My Life."  Stephen never gives cards for any holiday, so I was surprised to see two!  The Mom card was the best (see right).  Stephen put Ivelisse's handprint on the card.  Sweetest thing ever, even if she only has 4 fingers.  Hahaha.

While I was in class, Stevie took EV to the grocery store and picked up dinner.  We had ribeyes, grilled pineapple, and zucchini.  He even got dessert.  I think this is the biggest roll of cookie dough I have ever seen (see below).  He wasn't sure if you had to add eggs, so he bought a dozen just in case.  :)

In addition to the perfectly cooked dinner and sweet cards, Stevie got me a new Tervis and a beautiful pearl necklace!  I was completely suprised by everything!  I have the sweetest husband (most of the time) and I look forward to spending a hundred more years with him.

Pinterest Take 2

So I posted a picture a while back of EV in the laundry basket when she was 3 weeks.  I ordered these stickers from Etsy that you put on a white onesie.  You get one for each month.  This one was taken at 5 1/2 weeks.  I can't believe how different she looks from the last picture I took!

Missing Socks

The sock fairy ran off with two socks!  I guess the fairy has odd sized feet.  

In the four years that I have been doing Stephen's laundry, I have yet to lose a sock until the other day.

Nothing Sweeter

My Other Babies

After a 2 am feeding, I checked on our two dogs, Samson and Harley.  This is what I found...

Samson, the English Mastiff, was my dog and Harley, the Catahoula, was Stephen's dog.  Harley is quite aggressive with people and other dog (particularly dogs, his size or bigger); while Samson is the biggest baby you will ever meet.  From their first meeting, it has been a love-hate relationship.  Sam loves Harley.  Harley hates Sam.  After EV's arrival, Harley has been much friendlier to Sam.  I think since they have been booted to second place in line for our attention, they have turned to each other for comfort.  Harley takes a moment about once a week to show Sam he's still top dog.

More Pinterest

I saw a baby wearing this in a photograph on Pinterest.  I searched everywhere for a pattern to have my mom make it for me.  With no success finding a pattern, I started searching for it premade.  I started with my second favorite site-Etsy.com-and would you know it, I found it!  I cannot wait to get professional pictures made with EV wearing it.

Hi Mom!

This is the text that I get while I'm in class, "Hi Mom!" and this picture.  I am taking three classes this semester at USC toward my MEd in Special Education.  The classes are at night, so EV stays with her dad till I get home. All I can think about while I'm in class is getting home to my baby.  I never thought I would be this attached to anything!

Bath Time

I figured that bath time would be a fun time, but I was greatly mistaken!  I either get screams of agony or this face.  I filled up the bathtub much higher this time and floated her on her back in the water.  she liked this much better.  I can't wait till it is warmer to take her in the pool!

Boppy

Whoever invented the Boppy was a genius.  I am not sure who likes the Boppy better- EV, Stevie, or me!  There a hundred uses for the original Boppy pillow and if you aren't satisfied with those, they have made a product to meet your needs.  Every mom needs one!

My niece and her grandmother made this sweater and bonnet set for EV.  She looks like a baby doll!

Today, my cousin took pictures of Ivelisse for her birth announcement (only a month late).  I snapped this picture while I was getting her dressed.  The wiggle worm kept turning her head so the flower and headband look a little awkward.  The smile is perfect!!!
